Olympic equestrian events.
The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation has announced that the main
venue for the 2008 Olympic equestrian events has been finished in
Shatin.
The dressage and show jumping competitions will take
place at the site during the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games, Xinhua
News Agency reports.
The Equestrian events will be held at the
Hong Kong Sports Institute and Penfold Park in Shatin, Beas River
Country Club and part of the adjacent Hong Kong Golf Club.
Hong
Kong has put in place world-class equine care facilities and medical
services for horses, as well as a team of professionals specializing in
Equestrian events.
The International Olympic Committee decided
to move the equestrian events from Beijing to Hong Kong, after talks
between BOCOG and the International Equestrian Federation in Singapore
on July 8, 2005.
